Doramas is the latest fantasy series from MGM Animation that is now in theaters. The lead character, Oscar, is played by Gael Garcia Marquez. In Doramas, the hero, Oscar (Gael Garcia Marquez) travels back in time to meditate with his grandfather. During this time, he also gets the opportunity to revisit some of his favorite scenes from his childhood in Miami. As a result, he ends up changing and growing up a lot.

As one of the Spanish feature films, Doramas is about a young man, named Juan (Javier Bardem) who lives in a small village. He goes on a quest with his friend, Isabella ( Aires), to search for the mythical tab tree. Isabella is seen as the symbolic representation of all things beautiful while Juan represents the rugged life in which they both find themselves after finding the tab tree. Tambi, translated literally as "tree of life" is the national symbol for Peru and is associated with life, love, and happiness.

The story begins in 1980, when Juan and Isabella are seen in front of a beautiful palm tree with Uma Histria (The Queen of Diamonds) surrounding them. Isabella then flirts with a local merchant, sparking his interest in her. Within a matter of days, Juan, not knowing what to make of his friend, approaches Isabella and asks her to marry him. Although she initially refuses, Isabella's father, General Jose Cano, consents, and the happily-ever-after subplot is added to the film.

It is during the early part of the movie that we meet Ruben as Juan. This is when we see that he is not just another actor playing the role of Juan, but that he is that true performer that you have come to love from your favorite telenovelas. His performance is absolutely convincing and the chemistry between him and co-star Cesar Vallejo (Efren Ramirez) is quite effective. Ruben also plays the part of an attentive husband, which makes him very endearing to the viewers. Although Cesar has some good lines, Ruben sells them just like a native. The chemistry between the actors is quite remarkable and this makes the movie even more entertaining.

In Doramas, los actores, or, the kings of Doramas, are depicted as caring, dutiful subjects who are rewarded for their good behavior. Isabella and Juan are taught the value of hard work and family values, while Isabella's father teaches her the importance of being conservative and traditional. There are many more excellent sequences in Doramas, but this is by far the best film of all time about Mexican cinema.
